Understand inventory
On hand, committed, reserved and available — and how overselling is prevented.
The four numbers
On hand: physically in stock. Committed: sold on an order but not yet shipped. Reserved: held for a shopper who is paying right now (released automatically after 35 minutes if they don’t finish). Available = on hand − committed − reserved, and is what shoppers can buy.
Adjust stock
- 1Inventory → Adjust on a row.
- 2Choose “Add (±)” to receive or remove units, or “Set to” after a count.
- 3Pick a reason. Every change is written to the stock movement history.
Why you can’t oversell
Stock is reserved in a single database operation at checkout, so two shoppers can never buy the last unit at the same time.
