Set up payments

Stripe (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay)

1. 1Confirm your email address first.
2. 2Settings → Payments → Connect Stripe. You are sent to Stripe to create or connect your account.
3. 3Finish Stripe’s verification. Back in ModernShop, click Refresh status until it shows “Accepting payments”.
4. 4Payouts go directly from Stripe to your bank. Use “Open Stripe dashboard” to see them.

Card numbers never touch ModernShop — shoppers pay on Stripe’s secure checkout page.

Manual payments

Enable manual payments and write clear instructions (for example: “Send an Interac e-Transfer to payments@yourstore.ca with your order number”). Orders wait in “Awaiting payment” until you mark them as paid.

Test before going live

While the platform is in Stripe test mode, use card 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any future expiry and any CVC.
